Belgian team to Qualifying for the Rio Olympics


The last Olympics in London Belgian women’s team finished 5th place. At the time, the four best teams among the eight who competed were classified for the Olympics. One gymnast Qualified for the Olympics. The choice was Julie Croket, who was injured a month before the competition and was replaced by Gaelle Mys.

In the 2014 World Cup the team finished 11th and ahead of Brazil. If they can repeat the result in Glasgow, the team qualifies for the Test Event next year, then things can be very different and better than in 2012. 

Belgian youth who competed the EYOF was truely amazing and successful. The team finished with silver and with several individual medals. Two gymnasts Nina Derwael and Axelle Klinckaert were outstanding. 

Before the successful EYOF, Derwael was all-around champion at Flanders International Team Challenge in June and What a smashing performance the team took gold. These two gymnasts are very talented and  admirable. Axelle is very expressive on the Floor Exercise with 14 points in this event. While with Difficulty value of 6.2 on uneven bars and got 14,800 for this event at the EYOF. Now these the two gymnasts can compete in the senior category next year. The team has more talented gymnasts  Nathalle Wuytack and veteran Laura Waem, Gaelle Mys and Julie Croket in order to finish among the top 16 teams in Glascow.
