Youth gymnasts from 11 countries and 3
continents have competed for the TGW-Future-Cup trophy last weekend in Linz.
After the 2nd place of the Japanese team last year, they achieved the title this year in a very
impressing way.
The Austrian took 3rd place National
team with Johannes Mairoser, Daniel Kopeinik, Lorenz Rüf and Tamerlan
Tschutschaew. in front of a hometown audience.
The
Future-Cup was dominated by Japan and Sweden. The U18 was won by Takumi Shida
(JPN) followed by Kim Wandström (SWE). In the category U16, Kaito Sugimoto
(JPN) got the 2nd place only beaten by Alexander Benda (AUT) and nice for the
locals, Johannes Mairoser (AUT) got 3rd. In the youngest category David
Rumbutis (SWE) were a class of its own, followed by Teppei Miwa(JPN) and Felix
Dolci (CAN)."One of the best youth tournaments worldwide", was the reaction of all teams and their members.
Congratulations to the organisers, Austria.
