Kōji Gushiken - Individual all Around Champion 1984 Olympics.
Kōji Gushiken of Japan born 12 November 1956, at the 1984 Summer Olympics, Los Angeles, California, he won a total number of five medals, including two gold. One gold medal in the men`s All-around at the Los Angeles Olympics. Peter Vidmar of the U.S. the silver.
I can still picture his smiling face when he got a 10.00 point on Parallel Bars at the 1982 Delhi Asian Games, where I was the Head Judge for the event. Gushiken became the second most successful gymnast (behind Li Ning ) at the 1984 Games. Gushiken broke his ankle in May 1985, but finished his international career with a bronze medal on pommel horse at the World Championships in the same year before his retirement.
