Rosie MacLennan Gold at Loule World Cup Portugal

LOULE, Portugal --The Loulé World Cup is the first of three 2013 FIG World Cups for Trampoline and Tumbling. Begining 7 September 2013 in Loulé, Portugal. The very next week, the second World Cup of the year will be the Valladolid Trampoline World Cup to be held in Valladolid, Spain. Rounding out the series will be Danish Open in Odense in October. These events will determine the international ranking of trampoline and tumbling gymnasts around the globe. 

Olympic champion Rosie MacLennan returned to the World Cup circuit with a bang on Saturday, winning individual gold in her first solo trampoline competition since last summer, and adding another gold medal in the synchro event with partner and fellow Torontonian Samantha Sendel.

MacLennan’s degree of difficulty far surpassed any of the other seven competitors in the final en route to a score of 55.240.

Harchonak scored 50.845 for the silver and Ana Rente of Portugal took the bronze with 50.840 points. Samantha Smith of Toronto placed eighth.

Best Ever display from Canada at World Cup,  8 medals in all!
