German Championships- Stuttgart

Janine Berger (GER) tore her ACL attempting a double twisting Tsukahara in vault finals at the German Championships in Stuttgart.
Janine Berger showed at the Artistic Gymnastics DM in Stuttgart their most difficult vault, the double twisting Tsukahara. But it was not as planned: The top athlete of the SSV Ulm 1846 did not land clean. Janine Berger screamed in pain, and was rushed to the hospital - diagnosis: rupture of the
anterior cruciate ligament. WM-off. Future uncertain.
It was on Saturday everything looked so good: Janine Berger presented in excellent shape, German coach Ulla Koch said after Janine Berger had shown the "Tsuki" just a simple twist on Saturday: "You need not increase for the final. You got the jump, though, yes shown with some support already in the first qualifying. "Six weeks before the World Cup Berger was Germany's medal hope.
But in the vault final yesterday Janine Berger had already warm-up-twice the Tsukahara with double twist - without problem. She did not jump as high as before, and twisted her left knee during landing.
Do what the doctor says and feel better soon.
