The
competition that served as the Team Qualification and All Around Final competition wrapped up in Penza, with Aliya Mustafina defending
her Russian title, Alla Sosnitskaya finishing
solidly in second and
Anastasia Grishina third. A total of 56 gymnasts competed in the
first day.
It is the
fourth time Aliya has been Russian Champion, and the third time in a row. (The first was in in 2009, when she won the
title as a junior.) Alla Sosnitskaya had a great competition, but whether she will
remain one of Russia’s top all-around gymnasts
remains to be seen.
Let’s see what the
gymnasts can do for their teams and for
themselves in the upcoming Team and Event Finals.
