4 Nations Gymnastics Competition 2015 - Turin, Italy

Results:
The team competition was won by Russia with 224,850. They started on floor with less difficulty, or less impressive D-scores would be the more correct term, despite hard elements shown here and there by Seda Tutkhalyan, Angelina Melnikova and Anastasia Dimitrieva.
Italy with 218.000 were second after good uneven bars and solid vaults, but shaky rotations on floor and especially beam. They were the top team on vault on the day..
Romania 215.650 points had a pretty rough meet with falls on all apparatus.. On the other hand they lost a lot of ground on vault where they posted only one DTY, by Silvia Zarzu.
Columbia fourth place with 207.650.
In the All Aroun Finals , the Youth Olympics Champ, Seda Tutkhalyan managed to win the top spot with 57.400 followed by team mate Melnikova Angelina, 55.800 and third was Dimiteriva Anastasia 54.950., all from Russia.

16 Couples that are both Olympians

They say that love is blind. For Olympic athletes, finding true love may be closer than you might think. Here are 16 couples wt ho found each other either through their sport or at the Olympics.

Nadia Comaneci (ROU, Gymnastics) and Bart Conner (USA, Gymnastics) first met in 1976 at a tournament. The two reunited 14 years later and married in 1996

Ann Packer won gold at Tokyo 1964 and her Olympian husband Robbie Brightwell won silver (GBR, Athletics). 51 years after, they're still in love.

Triathlete couple @Jessica Harrison and @Carole Peon (FRA) competed at Beijing 2008 and London 2012

Game, set, it's a match! Miroslava Vavrinec and @Roger Federer (SUI, Tennis) met at Sydney 2000. They got married in 2009, and have two sets of twins.

Kristi Yamaguchi (USA, Figure skating) & Bret Hedican (USA, Ice Hockey) met at 1992 Albertville, began dating in 1995 and are now married with two kids.

Zhimin Jiao (CHN) & Jae-Hyung Ahn (KOR) fell in love the early 80s at a table tennis tournament, and married soon after the Olympic Games in Seoul.
Laura Trott and @Jason Kenny (GBR, Cycling)  started dating (secretly) a month before London 2012. They just got engaged last December!

Steffi Graf  (GER, Tennis) & @Andre Agassi  (USA, Tennis) married in 2001. When they play each other, Andre admits he "has trouble watching the ball".

Maxim Trankov @Tatiana Volosozhar (RUS, Figure Skating) won two golds in Sochi as pair. In February, they announced their engagement!

Jaqueline Carvalho became friends with @Murilo Endres  (BRA, Volleyball) when she was 14 and he was 17. Married last year, they're preparing for Rio 2016

Matthew Emmons (USA, Shooting) and @Katerina Emmons (CZE, Shooting) met at 2004 Athens and were married in 2007. Both have 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze!

Emil Zátopek proposed to Dana Zátopková (TCH, Athletics) at London 1948. At the next Summer Games, both won gold medals on the same day.

Jared Tallent and Claire Tallent (AUS, Athletics) are probably the fastest race-walking couple in the world. Both competed at London 2012.

Charles Hamelin and @Marianne St-Gelais (CAN, Short Track) both competed at Sochi 2014 and Vancouver 2010. They started dating in 2007 and are now engaged.

Lauryn Mark married Russell Mark (AUS, Shooting) shortly after the 2000 Sydney Games. Russell and Lauryn competed alongside each other at London 2012.

Another ACL tear in German WAG. Kim Bui

German gymnast Kim Bui has suffered a cruciate ligament injury in his right knee on Tuesday (26/05/2015). The 26-year-old German around champion the violation has suffered during jump training at the Frankfurt training center and will now have to pause for several months.

For Olympic gymnast Kim Bui it is the second serious injury of this kind. In February 2010, she had suffered a tear of the cruciate ligament, but in his left knee. Just one year later, at the European Championships in the spring of 2011 in Berlin, she celebrated a spectacular comeback by winning the bronze medal on the uneven bars.

FIG Rhythmic World Cup in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

South Africa and Africa’s top Rhythmic Gymnast, Grace Legote (NW) will compete at the 2015 FIG Rhythmic World Cup in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, scheduled to take place 22 – 24 May 2015.

This will be Grace’s second international competition for the 2015 year, as she prepares for the very important 2015 Rhythmic World Championships in September 2015, which are qualifiers for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Good Luck Grace.

Fédération Française de Gymnastique

Our thoughts are with the Fédération Française de Gymnastique as they rebuild following a fire today that damaged much of their office space.
In the late afternoon today, ( Tuesday 19 ) the seat of the Federation has suffered a fire following a short electrical circuit. The second floor was entirely burned, and the first suffered extensive damage (the first, the second and fifth floor belong to the federation). All the staff of the ffgym and other occupants of the building were able to be evacuated in time before the arrival of firefighters. The Ffgym is therefore inaccessible for an indefinite period. We will keep you informed as soon as possible as a result of this incident.

There are things that we don't want to happen, but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn.

Bon courage.

Olympic Artistic Gymnastics format for 2020

The new Olympic Artistic Gymnastics format for 2020 has been approved. The team format will be four gymnasts, four compete on each apparatus, and three scores count. The best countries will be able to qualify up to two individual gymnasts also through World Cups, Challenge Cups, and Continental Championships. There are many other formulas for AA gymnasts to qualify outside of the teams. The final details are still to be worked out, but the format is now set. I am one of the few that did not support this major change.- Steve Butcher.( Photo: Tokyo 2020 )
