Garibov ( RUS ) out of Tournament of Champions 2014 in Cottbus

The shoulder injury that is keeping team captain Emin Garibov out of Cottbus may also prevent him from competing at the World Championships this autumn, says Valentina Rodionenko.

'Initially, their doctors were inclined to operate, but then decided to prefer conservative treatment. In late March, Emin will have a check up with German doctors, to see if his shoulder has improved. If not, he will need an operation. In this case, Russia might not even be able to rely on Emin for Worlds. With this kind of joint injury, you can't expect a quick recovery.'

13th Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships

Magical moments are few and far between, but we were honoured to witness, Olivia’s wonderful routine which won us our first ever Gold medal at the 13th Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics  Asian Championships and  qualifying a  place in the Youth Olympic Games 2014 in China.
Olivia’s Gold medal was so well deserved; years of hard work and dedication have paid off. But in celebrating Olivia’s success we have to thank those who have supported her. First, Olivia’s parents, who like so many have given their full support to their child’s career. Secondly, the rest of the team who competed so well.
Behind the team we have to pay tribute to their coaches, who have worked tirelessly  to a common end; the superb personal coaches Miss Julia Ivanova and Mrs Lidia Legotina and as well as the staff at the Malaysian Gymnastics Federation who have ensured that funding and facilities have been in place despite numerous hoops that they have to jump through to meet the set criteria.
Olivia is lucky she has achieved her first goal, many others theirs are still working towards theirs. Without support their chances of succeeding diminish. Well done everyone.
The challenge now is to secure our position and plot our way for the future.
